About Harry Gandy Howle & Associates, P.A

Led by owner, Harry Howle and interior architecture specialist, Janelle Baker, our firm began its creative journey more than 35 years ago. We’ve had the pleasure of meeting and working with some of the most interesting and diverse clients, all of whom allowed us to integrate our full range of design talents. Our designs span from the mountains of North Carolina to the Southeast coastlines, and as far reaching as Cozumel.

HARRY G. HOWLE, AIA, ASLA, ICA
A native of South Carolina’s coastal plain, Harry honed his love of architecture at a young age. What better place to appreciate the grand style and order of classical architecture than in the nearby antebellum mansions. His early fascination with design and classical architecture set the stage for his success. In his legendary humorous style, he says he believes he was an architect in his former life because the talent came so easily to him.
Harry’s journey to a formal education in architecture began as a student at Clemson University and culminated with a degree from University of Georgia. He is a licensed Architect, Interior Designer, and Landscape Architect. And he’s a true Southern gentleman, we might add. His natural talent and experience has helped him bring together teams of distinctive designers for more than 35 years. Anyone who has ever worked with Harry and his associates love the fact that building a strong relationship with his clients is just as paramount as creating the homes of their dreams.
Harry often says: “Domestic architecture should fulfill a homeowner’s dreams, but it must also respect the purest precepts of its chosen vernacular.”
Spending time with his wife, Claire, and their four grown children, Harry, William, Glenn and Cissy is important. Blowing Rock, in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, is one of their favorite get-away spots. It's where Harry put his architectural and design skills to masterful work renovating a charming home.
JANELLE BAKER, INTERIOR ARCHITECTURE SPECIALIST
We are delighted that Jenelle Foxworthy Baker re-joined the firm in 2021 as our Interior Architecture Specialist. With a degree in Architectural Technology from Ferris State University and additional studies in Interior Design at Kendall College of Art and Design, Jenelle applies her talent and experience with advanced 3D architectural software to model residential interior elements.

Jenelle is no stranger to the Vero Beach community. Prior to returning to Grand Rapids, Michigan in 2012 to be closer to family, she worked for six years alongside our team and clients. She and her husband, Randy, have two young children. Aside from loving all things about architectural designing, Jenelle enjoys spending time with family.
“I love working with Harry. He’s like family. I look forward to re-establishing relationships with many of our clients and designs coastal residential interiors once again,” Janelle said.
